Paloma Tuesday and Introvert Woes

The Pantone-Inspired Color Challenge week continues! Tuesday's color is Paloma, a lovely light gray. I wore this outfit thrifting with my sister the other day, and I must say it was quite comfy:

Just a quick update this evening, as I am BEYOND exhausted.  For an introvert, a day full of non-stop social interactions can be more than a little draining.  Fulfilling, yes, but draining nonetheless.  I need some time to reflect and digest on the evening before I share more about my first date.

Instead, I'll just leave you with an excerpt from an incredible poem I recently discovered by the amazingly talented Warsan Shire:

...And you tried to change didn’t you?
closed your mouth more
tried to be softer
prettier
less volatile, less awake
but even when sleeping you could feel
him travelling away from you in his dreams
so what did you want to do love
split his head open?
you can’t make homes out of human beings
someone should have already told you that
and if he wants to leave
then let him leave
you are terrifying
and strange and beautiful
something not everyone knows how to love.

  1. I love the pattern and texture mix of your shirt! Sorry you are struggling with your introvertedness (OMG, is that even a word?!) I recently discovered after about two years of knowing a good friend, that she is an introvert. All this time, I never knew that it was physically stressful for her to answer the phone or psych herself up after a long day of work to meet up for drinks with people she isn't very familiar with. Now I know to text instead of call and I try to schedule a weekly brunch with other people that she is friends with so that she isn't so stressed. Thanks for sharing this poem. :)

I really like this outfit. Comfortably-cute. Great scarf & flats. I just bought a Sweatshirt last month that has metallic sleeves like yours. =)
