Those blustery days of winter

1 2 3 4

I apologize for my absence, but the truth is that this hectic, crazy life I've led these past months have left me pretty uninspired in terms of fashion. It's pretty hard to find motivation to dress nicely when I end up changing into scrubs or coveralls to go traipsing about working on horses and dogs. I truly don't want to fall into the grad school trap of pulling on whatever is A) clean, and B) convenient before running out the door in the morning. Not that clean and convenient aren't important factors for dressing...they just don't always lead to the best fashion choices!

Anyway, it has been a fairly mild winter thus far, for which I am VERY thankful. Last week I spent a lot of time outdoors learning how to do basic equine medical techniques. I really like horses, but they can be very tricky to work around! Thank goodness we have all sorts of helpful drugs to sedate them. :) Aside from one minor mishap (I accidentally hit the carotid artery instead of the jugular vein when drawing bad!), it was a rather pleasant week. Next week we "tackle" cows and sheep. Hopefully it won't be too frigid cold!

Today I decided to experiment a bit with patterns. I've had this blouse for literally forever, and am always looking for new ways to wear it! I also just colored my hair last week, so it's been fun to play with outfit colors to coordinate with my new hair color.

Just a heads up for you shoe afficionados...Blowfish is having a ridiculously good sale. I've actually never bought shoes online, but have been stalking their Vance booties for awhile now. I finally took the plunge and bought them since they finally went on sale! Yippee!

What I'm wearing:
Blouse - Hand-me-down from sister
Sweater - Hand-me-down from sister
Jeans - Grane, Macy's
Boots - No idea...I've had them forever!
Belt - Chiang Mai, Thailand Walking Street

Calvin was being a camera hog when I came in from taking photos. Too bad it came out a bit blurry. :P
